Paul Buboltz enters his 12th year as the Head Coach at Desert Oasis High School.  Paul came to Desert Oasis High School in 2012 after serving as a JV Head Coach and  assistant coach (Pitching) for 6 years at Sierra Vista High School.  Since taking over at Desert Oasis, Coach Buboltz has lead the Diamondbacks to a 226-118(91 -37) record in his first ten  seasons at the helm, being named Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2018 .  His 2019 team set a school record for wins at 34.  Desert Oasis has  won 3 league titles 2015, 2018, 2019. The 2015 team was  the first NIAA league title in Desert Oasis baseball history.   2018 the diamondbacks went 18-0 in league.  2019 was a historic year for the Diamondbacks winning a league title (12-0) winning the Regional championship,  Southern Nevada Championship and capping off the season winning the 4A Nevada State Championship.  In addition to winning the state title the 2019 Diamondbacks finished the season ranked 12th nationally in the National High School Baseball Coaches Association Poll.  The 2019 team also  went the distance being ranked #1 in Nevada from day 1 till the end of the year.  Coach Buboltz has also led Desert Oasis to 10  consecutive Sunset Region Tournament appearances.   2020 was a shortened season due to covid 19.  The 2020 squad went 7-1 and was well on its way to defending the 2019 State championship until Covid  shut down the season.  The 2021 shortened season also saw the Diamondbacks get hit with Covid and battled to a 7-7 record and making it to the semifinals of the region championship.  Also in this uncommon year PBR held a state championship that the Squad made it all the way to the State Championship game knocking off the number 10 nationally ranked  Bishop Gorman 2 times  before falling to Basic in the Championship game.   One of the most impressive streaks also came to a end in 2021 .  The Desert Oasis Diamondbacks had won 40 consecutive league games which spanned across 5 different baseball season dating back to 2017 season on April 20th until 2021 loss on April 28th.  This is a record that will be hard to break for teams coming up.   The 2023 team started the season started with the team being unranked.  The 2023 knocked off basic 8-7 to advance to the state tournament for the 2nd time in school history.  They finished the season as Region runners up and Also lost to bishop gorman in the state championship game.  The 2023 team also finished  with a   overall record of 28-14 which tied a school record for most games played  and finished 3rd in school history for wins.  Coach Buboltz looks to continue the success of the Diamondback program in 2024.

Buboltz graduated from New Ulm, MN Cathedral High school where he played football, baseball, and basketball.  While in high school Buboltz earned All-Conference, All City, and All Section in Baseball and Football.  Upon graduation, Buboltz attended Rochester Community College where he played football and baseball.  After getting his AA degree from Rochester, Buboltz transferred to St. Cloud State University (MN).  He played two years, having earned the honor of team captain his senior year.  After Buboltz’s eligibility expired he accepted the job as assistant coach (Pitching and Outfield) at St. Cloud State University for two years.  After graduating from St. Cloud State University in 2005, Buboltz moved to Las Vegas.

In addition to his duties as the head baseball coach, Buboltz teaches Physical Education classes at Desert Oasis High School.  Coach Buboltz in married to his beautiful wife Candy, and they have a son named Cash and daughter named Lily.
